On Sunday 1 November Sensei Amala Wrightson and Kathryn Argetsinger launched their book Finding Your Seat, A Zen Handbook. Sensei Amala was in person at the Auckland Zen Centre and Kathryn was online from Massachusetts. The Ven. Amala Wrightson is a trustee of The Religious Diversity Centre.

About the book:
Finding Your Seat, A Zen Handbook by Amala Wrightson and Kathryn Argetsinger is a trustworthy general guide to the practice of Zen as it is being taught at the Auckland Zen Centre in Aotearoa

New Zealand. Beginning with basic instructions for Zen sitting and breathing, the book explores each successive step along the way, from attending group sittings and beginning to work with a teacher, to taking part in sesshin (week-long intensive retreat). Amala Wrightson is the Director of the Auckland Zen Centre, which she co-founded with her husband Richard von Sturmer, and where she has taught since 2004. She is a Dharma-heir of Roshi Bodhin Kjolhede. Kathryn Argetsinger is Amala-sensei’s most senior student and currently leads sitting groups in Western Massachusetts, USA.
