National Statement on Religious Diversity 3rd edition is launched

Ten years after the production of the first edition, the 3rd edition of the National Statement on Religious Diversity has been launched with three events held in Wellington, Auckland and Christchurch over the past three months. The Religious Diversity Centre has acted as host along with the Commission on Human Rights and the Office of Ethnic Communities.

Under eight headings the Statement sets out the rights and responsibilities of people and communities, both those who profess a religious belief and those who profess no religion.

As the Prime Minister states in her Foreword, the Statement ‘offers a framework within which religious issues can be discussed both by faith communities themselves and within the wider New Zealand community’.

Copies are available from the RDC office.
