RDC November News

Climate Change – The UN Conference – COP27
The 27th United Nations Climate Change Conference takes place this month from 6 to 18 November 2022 in the city of Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt.
Once again, the global interfaith community will be represented among the non-governmental presence.
We are fortunate that Rod Oram will be attending the Conference and will report to us by Zoom interview at times during the conference. Watch the space at www.rdc.org.nz
The Conference will build on the outcomes of COP26:
– reducing greenhouse gas emissions,
– building resilience and adapting to the inevitable impacts of climate change,
– the commitments of rich countries to finance climate action in developing countries.
A Spiritual Wave around our world, every day, at noon in your time zone, alone or together with others”.
People of all faiths around the world have been encouraged to offer their prayers and meditations towards a beneficial UNCOP 27 during the conference.
You may like to join others in the noon time wave of prayer in Silent Prayer and Meditation, with the symbolic actions of our traditions- whether it be the chime of bells, lighting a candle or silence – bowing, kneeling, standing or sitting in prayer.
What is your faith community doing in the face of climate change? The RDC Climate Action Group would love to hear your story. Send your story to admin@rdc.org.nz and download the poster from the RDC website.
