Happy Norooz and Ramadan Mubarak – kia ora and greetings,

Leadership Diversity Days

Schools are now registering for the 2023 Leadership Diversity Days to be held in Auckland on 24 May and South Auckland on 1 June.
Year 12 students, facing their last year as leaders in their schools, hear presentations from their peers on topical issues from the perspectives of their different religions. The students have said how much they enjoy discussion in small groups of students from different schools.

For more information on Leadership Diversity Days, see here.

Race Race Relations Commissioner, Meng Foon, will be a special guest to speak with the students on the Ngā Kete Wananga Marae at Manukau Institute of Technology, on 1 June.

These Days are valued so highly by the students and their teachers that the Religious Diversity Centre is keen to work with a small group willing to organise a first Leadership Diversity Day in their centre.  If you are interested, please contact: admin@rdc.org.nz.

The RDC Climate Action Group
Climate change is here. Now. People in different parts of the country have been hit hard in recent months. The years ahead are going to be difficult as we all learn to deal with the challenges of the climate and with the changes we will need to make in our own lives.
From the Statement to Government endorsed by religious leaders in 2021:
“Religious and indigenous communities, who act collectively, who care for humankind and the environment, and who show compassion especially in times of crisis and distress, now have a significant role to play.”

The RDC Climate Action Group is keen for local religious communities to share their stories of action – Let’s learn from one another and support each other.
