A couple of weeks ago, Muharram started, the first month in the Islamic calendar.
Dr Sajjad Naqvi shared some personal thoughts about the Islamic New Year and other themes in a recent interview with Beate Matthies.
If you haven’t had a chance to watch the latest RDC videoclips yet, check out our website – just click on the pictures on the home page or go straight to our videoclips.

Here are some news items from the RDC:
1. Youth Leadership Council (YLC)
The Youth Leadership Council Ngā Rangatahi o Māramatanga has been together for a weekend retreat, their first meeting since the official launch at Parliament Buildings in Wellington.
We will regularly share some of their news on our website.
2. Calendar 2022 – August Picture
The August page features a picture of a rain filled leaf with a quote from the Qur’an. We have two videoclips with different approaches to the picture’s  connection with Muslim traditions. One features Imaam Muhammed Shaakir who reflects on Water in Islam from a theological and spiritual perspective. The other features Dr Sajjad Naqvi who shares his thoughts about water and its meaning, symbols and practices. You can access both videoclips here.
